
Chris Churchouse is an experienced project manager, consultant and trainer. His working background started in mechanical engineering in the aircraft industry, moving onto engineering design. He created the first Computer Aided Design and Order Processing system for Dexion Ltd before moving into offshore industry computer analysis with a computer bureau, becoming Head of Offshore and Marine Engineering. After a short spell as a project manager and senior consultant for Fluor (GB) Ltd he started his own consultancy business in 1986.
Since starting in business, Chris has worked for local and central government departments, small private businesses and large corporations, providing a mix of hands-on project management, project support, advice and training.
Chris is the co-author of two books in the Gower Workbooks series: Managing People and Managing Projects. He has also co-written a complete series of open learning materials for managers, project managers and trainers. His writing talents are frequently called upon by magazines and those seeking specialised booklets, such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants IT Faculty.
Chris has acquired the ISEB Certificate in Project Management for Information Systems (using PRINCE®), the PRINCE® Practitioner Certificate and the ISEB PPSO Foundation and Advanced Certificates. He is also a qualified Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which he uses in his training and day-to-day encounters.
Until recently, Chris was the General Manager of Best Practice User Group, Chris organised and still takes part in the BPUG® conferences.
Chris has recently re-awoken an interest in playing music and now plays the saxophone. He is attempting to learn to play piano - with mixed success!
